Gorran Haven
Our stock photography bank of Gorran Haven, one of Cornwall’s little pearls of a harbour, is constantly growing and aims to show off this beautiful Cornish location from many different angles
With stock images taken from the epic South West Coast Path cliff tops looking down into this quintessentially Cornish fishing village alongside detail photographs from within, you’ll find a picture to suite the needs of your current project
The village of Gorran Haven is first mentioned in records as a pilchard fishing location in the 13th century, although it is doubtless that it has been settled for a long time before that, with its exceptional sheltered location and proximity to shell fish rich shores. In its early days, Gorran Haven was a more important fishing centre than Mevagissey and it was not until the introduction of drift net fishing in the 18th century that it fell behind its local rival.
By now, the village’s fishing heritage is just heritage but the harbour and many old fishing related buildings remain to honour its past and our stock photography of the village aims to capture this element of the place. Alongside these images, the contemporary status of the village as one of Cornwall’s most beautiful holiday destinations is represented too.
